Calypso
Calypso teaches people to handle stress through autogenic training, in fifteen minutes a day. I designed and built its new website, from the first call with the client to launch. Development of the app itself is planned next.

The brief
Calypso is an educational app for preventing stress, anxiety and insomnia. The original site was built from a template, and the client wanted a new one that would feel professional and calm at the same time. It had to speak to individuals, young people included, and to companies offering the app to their staff.
Finding the look
On the first call we mostly agreed on what we did not want: Headspace-style playfulness, loud colours or a dark tech look. What stayed was a muted green and a warm beige that, in the client's words, feels like the paper of a good book. Pure white would feel like a doctor's coat.
Instead of Figma mockups I built straight in code. From the start the client clicked through the real site on desktop and phone, and we discussed feedback on actual pages.

Besides light mode the site has two dark palettes, Forest Night and Midnight Sage. Drag the divider.
8 languages
Czech, English, Ukrainian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. The copy for each language lives in a single file, so adding another language is easy.
Breathe in, breathe out
In the hero a dot pulses to the rhythm of breathing, with the words Inhale and Exhale taking turns next to it. The idea came straight from the client's brief. Visitors with reduced motion turned on see it still.
Privacy and security
Google Analytics loads only after cookie consent. The site sends strict security headers, and newsletter sign-ups are stored by a small Cloudflare function instead of another paid tool.

Beyond the website
I also designed the app screens in the same style as the website. They replaced the original placeholder images and you can see them on the site. On top of that I prepared sponsor decks in Czech and English.

What comes next
The client and I have also agreed on building the app itself. The plan is to move it from a no-code platform to its own Supabase backend, add Stripe subscriptions, rework the interface, and finally ship it as an iOS and Android app.
